According to reports, a police blockade outside the location prevented the mother-of-four from heading to a pickup car after the game despite her mother-in-law's pleas.

Ayesha Curry remained silent throughout the incident, but she appeared visibly upset and eventually began to shed tears.

She was accompanied by her mother-in-law, Sonya, and two of her children, Canon Jack, 6, and newborn Caius. Her husband's Golden State teammate, Draymond Green, was also present, perhaps escorting the family back to the car.

Just as Ayesha and her family attempted to cross the road to where the vehicle was parked and waiting, they were stopped by a police blockade that wasn't restricting all forms of movement at the time.

Surprised by the situation, Ayesha's mother-in-law tried to appeal to the officers to let them through.

"Look, they won't let us go back over there where we came from," Sonya could be heard addressing the officers in a now-viral video of the incident. "They won't let the driver come here and they won't let us go back over there."

The situation quickly escalated after it appeared that one of the officers might have touched baby Caius on the head.

Sonya could then be seen yelling out loud to one of the officers the words, "You will not sleep well" and "Don't touch the baby."

Ayesha, who could be seen visibly upset and crying, remained quiet during the confrontation, allowing Sonya to make all the appeals.

However, despite the pleas, the police continued to prevent them from moving even after Sonya tried to indicate that their waiting car was close.

Throughout the incident, the language barrier posed a challenge as the officers primarily spoke French.

Fortunately, a passerby noticed the situation and stepped in to translate between the police and Ayesha's family.

As the standoff continued, the translator learned from the officers that the blockade had been set up for security reasons because President Emmanuel Macron was passing through the area.

"Nobody's allowed to cross the street right now until he's passed," the passerby informed Ayesha and her family, per the Daily Mail.

One of the cops reportedly apologized about the baby situation while the passerby translated.

However, Ayesha and her family were still held back, which prompted Green to jump into the conversation.

The NBA star asked in shock, "So, even after him hitting the baby in the head, there's still nothing y'all can do to get them out of here?'

It is unclear when Ayesha and her family were finally allowed to leave, but it most likely occurred after the president's motorcade passed.
